Pre-glow at the shrine: 11:30 AM Food, pop and water, this is a dry event.
Parade line up: We need to be lined up by 2:00pm.
Road closures: 2:30pm SHARP!
Ladies viewing area: in the usual spot for this parade, the chief aide has made arrangements and will communicate details to the ladies.
Parade Line up Location:
Addison Trail High School, South lot and East driveway and lots, enter from Army Trail road.
Line Up Plan & Parking: Small vehicles with trailers will drive thru and to the back lot to park and unload, relax and wait to be called up front. Large tow rigs and trailers will be kept in the frontage road lot for easy in and out. Horse troop will park in frontage road lot near shade trees to keep the horses cool. Parking for Divan, aides and out of town guests will be available as well.
Units with equipment support trailers: Are encouraged to roll them in the parade, just have a plan for the end of the parade to park safely and load back up.
Restrooms: North entrance of the high school will be open.
Stay Hydrated: Parade Marshals will have bottles of water, the city will also provide bottled water in the H.S near the restroom.
Parade step off: 3:00pm for the city parade entries (55 in total).
Medinah group step off: TBD as we follow the last city parade float.
Public safety: First responders will patrol the parade route and ask that if you see something of concern say something to them. School buses and shelter locations will also be provided along the route, offering first aid, cooling, and storm protection.
After party: 4:30pm to 8:00pm in the village green, parking across the street in the mall or around the area.
Addison has invited 5 food, beverage vendors, and a band (Rick Lindy & the juke box legends) dine on your own dime.
Medinah event booth:
Visit the Medinah Shriners booth at the after party to say hi, or help out, wear your parade or club shirt to represent Medinah proudly.
We need a couple volunteers to man the booth starting at 2:30pm to about 5pm. and a 2nd set from 5 to 8pm. Sit back enjoy the band while answering questions about our shrine and taking donations for the transportation fund. This is a perfect opportunity for a new shriner or an experienced Noble to help out. The booth will have a shade tent, table, cooler of water and chairs, all that is missing is a friendly Shriner.
